_____________

*George Irvin holds JAA and FAA professional licences with IR; he flew part time in The Netherlands for some years as an air-taxi pilot. Additionally, as a GA pilot he owned his own aircraft (M20J) in which he crossed the Atlantic. In 2004, when he lost his medical, had a total of just over 4000 hours (which is very low by airline standards). In his flying years, he wrote extensively for flight journals, including the first article in the UK's Pilot Magazine on flight simulation.
